INDIA’S MOST DEFINITIVE DOCTOR’S DAY CONCLAVE BRINGS TOGETHER THE NATION’S LEADING DOCTORS, HEALTHCARE LEADERS, AND POLICYMAKERS

New Delhi, June 30, 2026: The 9th Edition of Doctor’s Day Conclave 2026, Powered by Lupin, concluded on June 27, 2026, at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Recognised as one of India’s most respected platforms dedicated to the medical fraternity, the conclave brought together distinguished doctors, healthcare leaders, policymakers, researchers, innovators, and institutions to celebrate excellence in medicine while advancing conversations that are shaping the future of healthcare in India.

Held under the theme “The Pulse of India: One Million Healers. One Billion Lives.”, the conclave reaffirmed the vital role of India’s medical fraternity in strengthening public health, driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and building a more accessible, equitable, and future-ready healthcare ecosystem.

Addressing the conclave, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Honourable Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India, said, “India’s diversity is one of its greatest scientific strengths. By advancing genomics, precision medicine, and research, we have the opportunity to shape global healthcare while delivering more personalised care to our citizens.”

Healthcare as a national priority

The conclave opened with distinguished leaders sharing their perspectives on the evolving role of healthcare in nation-building, accessibility, innovation, and public policy.

Honourable Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Governor of Haryana, reflected on the ideals of service, humanity, and collective responsibility while emphasising the need for stronger rural healthcare, greater support for doctors, and collaborative action across the healthcare ecosystem.

Honourable Shri Ramen Deka, Governor of Chhattisgarh, emphasised that while technology continues to transform medicine, trust, compassion, and the doctor-patient relationship remain at the heart of quality healthcare.

Smt. Anupriya Patel, Honourable Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers, Government of India, highlighted India’s progress towards universal health coverage, with a focus on accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare through transformative initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat.

Building on this vision, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Honourable Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India, spoke about India’s growing leadership in precision medicine, genomics, and scientific innovation, positioning healthcare research as a key pillar of the nation’s future.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, reinforced the vision of democratising healthcare excellence through Ayushman Bharat and expanding access to quality healthcare for millions of Indians.

Throughout the day, the conclave examined the evolving priorities shaping India’s healthcare ecosystem through discussions spanning healthcare policy, innovation, accessibility, medical ethics, patient-centred care, mental well-being, and digital transformation.

Healthcare beyond boundaries

The conclave also highlighted the remarkable diversity of modern healthcare delivery beyond conventional hospital settings.

Lt Gen CG Muralidharan, Director General of Medical Services, Army, shared insights into battlefield medicine, emphasising rapid response systems, casualty evacuation, and frontline surgical care that continue to save lives in the most demanding environments.

Offering a maritime perspective, Surgeon Vice Admiral Shankar Subramanian, Director General of Medical Services, Navy, highlighted the evolution of naval medicine through telemedicine, emergency preparedness, mental health support, and healthcare delivery across challenging operational environments.

Together, these discussions demonstrated how innovation, preparedness, and collaboration continue to redefine healthcare delivery across every frontier.

Recognising excellence across India’s medical fraternity

At the heart of the conclave was its enduring commitment to recognising doctors whose contributions continue to strengthen India’s healthcare ecosystem.

Distinguished medical professionals were felicitated across multiple specialties, including Inspiring Gynecologists of India, Inspiring Dermatologists of India, Inspiring Orthopaedic Surgeons of India, Inspiring Chest Specialists of India, and the Hippocrates category, recognising exceptional clinical excellence, leadership, and service to the medical profession.

Over nine editions, the conclave has honoured more than 1,600 doctors, welcomed over 7,200 attendees, featured 500+ speakers and healthcare leaders, engaged 160+ healthcare institutions, and recognised 25+ Padma Shri and 40+ Padma Bhushan awardees, reinforcing its position as one of India’s most credible platforms dedicated to celebrating medical excellence.
